Role: Volunteer Trustee - 7th Bassett Scout Group

Full Role Description

Would you like to help young people gain skills for life - without putting on a uniform?

We’re looking for a new volunteer to join our Trustee Board. As a Trustee, you’ll play a vital role behind the scenes, helping to ensure our Scout Group runs safely, legally, and effectively. You’ll be part of a supportive team responsible for overseeing the strategy, finances, property, risk management and compliance of the charity.

No prior Scouting experience is needed - we’re looking for someone who’s organised, community-minded, and happy to work as part of a team. Whether you’re an experienced professional or simply passionate about giving back, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll help us:

• Oversee budgets, fundraising, and financial planning

• Make sure we’re following key policies around safeguarding, inclusion and safety

• Support the management and maintenance of our hut and equipment

• Work with our Lead Volunteer to help the group grow and thrive

• Keep things running smoothly through regular meetings and good governance

Full training is provided, including short online modules in safety, safeguarding and the role of a trustee.
