As a Group, we ask all our members to pay a monthly subscription. This covers: Scouting Membership Fees and Insurance, Running costs of the Group, Upkeep and improvement of our Scout HQ, and Equipment and programme resources for our young people.
We now collect all subscription payments through Online Scout Manager (OSM), which also enables us to claim Gift Aid, increasing the value of your contributions at no extra cost to you.
Subs remain £12 per month across all sections.
There is also a one-off joining fee of £8, which covers the cost of a Group necker, badges and the membership woggle. This fee is payable when your young person is invested.
All payments are now made securely through Online Scout Manager (OSM) using Debit or Credit Cards.
This means:
Payments are automatic, secure and flexible
Refunds can be proceed quickly
You can track payment history directly in your OSM parent account
By completing the Gift Aid declaration in OSM, the Group can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you contribute, at no additional cost to you. We will periodically send out information asking you to sign up to Gift Aid via OSM.
New members receive three weeks free to try the section.
If your young person decides to continue, we will send you an OSM payment request so monthly subs can begin from week four.
If they choose not to join, no payments will be taken.
